How to Use Arizona Rub
Which Rub Blend Should I Use?

Arizona Beer Can Chicken

This is a great way to make moist flavorful chicken and can be done on BBQ or in the oven.

1 Chicken (whole)
1 Can of beer (whatever you’ve got in the frig)
2 TBSP Melted butter
1 Can Chicken broth
Arizona Rub (your choice of blends)
Wood chips (For gas BBQ smoker box – soak in water for at least an
hour. Can also be placed directly on charcoal briquettes.)

Open beer and drink the first half (or pour it out if you don’t mind wasting perfectly good beer). Use a can opener to put a couple more holes in the top. (Note: There are a number of beer can chicken holders on the market. If you have one, use it. They make beer can chicken easier.) Add melted butter and about a tablespoon of Arizona Rub to beer. Wash chicken and pat dry. Thoroughly coat inside and out with Arizona Rub of your choice. If you can get rub between skin and chicken, do that, too. Place chicken on beer can and put in shallow baking pan. If using gas BBQ, place over indirect heat. Add chicken broth to baking pan. Put wood chips in smoker box and place over direct heat. If baking in oven, remove upper rack and place chicken on lower rack. Add chicken broth to baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Use meat thermometer to check temperature and when it reaches 165-170 degrees at the breast, remove carefully from BBQ or oven. Take chicken off beer can. Carve and serve.
